Fire Zone Plan
Do I need a Fire Zone Plan?
The short answer is YES. Fire Zone Plans are required on all systems in order to conform with BS5839-1:2025. If the fire service visited your property they would flag you for neglecting fire safety standards.

When a competent person or company carries out the maintenance on any fire alarm system it is a requirement that a missing zone plan should be recorded as a major non-compliance.

We can assist you with the creation of Fire Zone Plan for any sized building in any sector

Fire Zone Plans
Fire Zone Plans are required on any system of any size to conform with BS5839-1:2025. These plans should be placed next to the main fire alarm panel. Our plans show the building outline with clearly defined zones. All entrances, stairs, doors and rooms must be clearly marked on the plan.
From your sketches or marked up drawings Apex CAD Drawing & Planning LTD can create your clear and easy to read zone plans. Looking professional and displaying your company branding at each control panel location, you have complete control of the final plans. You can add any other relevant information such as emergency contact phone numbers or central station contact details for the weekly testing of monitored systems.

What is a Fire Zone Plan?
Our Fire Zone Plans
A Fire Zone Plan will show an up to date drawing of the building, which will show all entrances, main circulation areas. These drawings are then clearly divided into zones based on the fire alarm installation.

These plans should be located by all fire alarm panels and fire alarm repeater panels. The fire alarm panel should display the zone as the indication of where a potential fire is located. The user or fire service can then use this along with our Fire Zone Plan located next to the panel to direct themselves to the area where the alarm was activated
Our range of Fire Plans can be used by both the occupants as well as emergency services. They will be designed to compliment your existing evacuation strategy and specific needs of the building's occupants. Fire plans should be displayed:

-
On every floor at the main entry points to the floor or building.
-
Main corridors.
-
Lift lobbies and stairs.
-
For hotels - in every guest room and common area.
-
Coffee points and meeting rooms.

Our Fire Zone Plans are scalable to the size of the organisation we work for. Our Fire Zone Plans can be used in small offices through to large, complex buildings We create plans for both residential and commercial properties.
We also have a range of finishes that can be used to display your fire plans such as, snap frames, aluminium framing and acrylic printing. Please feel free to discuss any requirements you have with us. The quickest way we can create your plans is by using an existing building drawing. If you don't have these available, we can create your plans in a variety of ways as detailed on our Floor Plans page.

At Apex CAD, we create all of our zone plans using Autocad Software which will either involve us using existing DWG drawings of buildings or re-creating the building drawing from scans/sketches from PDF plans or hand drawings.
